What is the Hiring Process?
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY APPLICATION
- Your application is in our system for initial review once submitted.
- Hiring managers at each individual work site will review applications to determine who they will interview.
- Human Resources screening interviews are not required for hire.
- Once a hiring manager determines the best candidate, the candidate's name goes to Human Resources for approval.
- Upon offer of a position, applicants are required to be fingerprinted by the Cherokee County School District Police Department at an applicant cost of $45.00 which is payable with exact cash, money order, personal check made out to Cherokee County School District, or by credit card ($2.15 processing fee applies).
- If approved by Human Resources, candidate names are submitted to the School Board for final approval and hire.

- You will receive information about setting up your CCSD account.
- Our Human Resources team will send you an electronic checklist to complete.
- You will receive information on how to attend your onboarding meeting and sign up for benefits (if applicable).
How Can I be a Substitute?
Substitute Process:
- Go to our "Jobs@CCSD" page to search for our substitute teacher job posting to apply.
- All pre-employment processes apply, including the Georgia Criminal History Record Inquiry and fingerprinting.
- For applicants with an out-of-state certificate, college experience, or a high school diploma/GED, attendance at a Cherokee County School District Substitute Training Workshop is required prior to approval for substitute positions. Workshops are invitation-only and are hosted multiple times a year.
- For applicants who hold a valid or expired, clear renewable Georgia professional teaching certificate, a workshop is not required.
- Certified Georgia educators may apply to be long-term substitute teachers.
